THE RETURN OF CHRIST

In dealing with the Return of Christ, it is important to understand the sequence of trumps. Truth should always be simplified so that there should be no confusion. All throughout the New Testament we are told that at the last trump Christ returns. However did you know that an important event also takes place when He returns? In dealing with the trumps, lets take our time and examine them. A trump simply is a trumpet that sounds for action. Lets follow the subject thread and go with it into the book of Revelation.

Revelation 8 v2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets. Here we find that there are a total of only 7 trumps. Let this flow with ease as we learn about the last trump.

10 v7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. This 7th angel holds the final trump that completes all things, even those things spoken of in the Old Testament. Lets find the double witness to this.

11 v15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. Again when the 7th trumpet sounds, it is finished and Christ replaces all governments and kingdoms.

From the above verses we now know there are only 7 trumpets. We also found that in the 7th or last trumpet is when Christ begins to reign. Lets go to the book of 1st Corinthians ch 15 to pick up our subject. Paul is teaching about the flesh body and our spiritual body. He begins to finalize the teaching by explaining a specific time frame, our subject.

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, Paul is letting us know that when the end is near, there are some who shall see the return. Those who are living at that time will bypass death. In other words their process of life in getting old and dying comes to a halt.

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Those who are living at that time are changed in a" blink of an eye" into their spiritual body. Notice its at the last trump, the fartherest one out, the 7th trump.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. This perishable flesh must put on the spiritual body that has an unending existence for the eternity. The mortal soul that is liable to die must put on immortality.

54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. Paul says this best in Hebrews ch 2 v14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

Now we have established that there are only 7 trumps and the last trump is when all things are completed in this world. In dealing with the last trump, we found that those alive at the return are changed in a moment into their spiritual body. As we continue we hope to address this important topic in the next series. The Last Trump and How we meet the Lord.

Thus far, we found that at the 7th trump Christ returns. We also noted that some would live to see all these things come to pass in that, their life would escape death. Paul would go further in-depth into that mystery, about those who remain on earth at Christ coming. Lets go into our subject concerning the last trump.

1st Thessalonians ch 4
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. Paul is letting us know about those who have died in the Lord so that we shouldn’t be sad. That we do have hope and we know there is more to life.

14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. Do you believe Jesus died and rose? If so, those who died in the Lord have rose also and are with our Father. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians ch 5v8). With this we can be confident and rejoice in that we shall see our loved ones again. That they are not dead or sleeping in the ground, but with God.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. Here is the mystery Paul previously talked about. Those of us who remain alive at the coming of the Lord cannot precede them who have died. Why? They are already with the Lord. Paul is pulling from Ecclesiastes ch 12 v 7vThen shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Notice the colon, again Paul keeps repeating that the dead rise first, naturally. They are with the Lord, but notice eventually comes the end and the Lord returns at the trump of God. Any guess which trump that may be? It's the Last trump; the 7th is the only one Christ returns at. In other words you are either HERE or THERE.

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Those of us who witness Christ coming back are changed in a moment, in the twinkling of the eye at the LAST trumpet. Now because many believe they are "taken up" or "raptured" and use this verse to say so. We feel we must focus ON THE SUBJECT in its correct context.

Lets recap a bit; Paul does not want the Christian to be ignorant about where the dead are. That we should not sorrow over them, that if we believe Christ rose from the dead, they likewise have risen as well. In sticking with the Subject, Paul is not talking about meeting Christ in the "air" or "sky" or "atmosphere". The Greek word is #109 in the Strongs Concordance "aer" which MEANS From aemi (to breathe unconsciously, i.e. respire; by analogy, to blow)

This is the subject. We meet the Lord in our spiritual body at His return. Its not talking about a "rapture". In fact the Word rapture is not even in the bible. Its important to stress this because of the brainwashing that this means "rapture". Paul simply wanted to further explain the events at the LAST TRUMP. Paul spoke "street Greek" or "slang" in that it was not his first language, but Hebrew. Paul used the word "clouds" many times to describe a group of witness's, just as many today do the same in speaking about a "cloud of locust" or a "cloud of black birds". It is a figure of speech that describes our gathering back to Christ. That at the Last Trump those who are alive will all be changed into our spiritual bodies to meet the Lord as He returns to the earth to set up the eternal Kingdom.

18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
